The Queen said yesterday that she was shocked by news of the tragedy at Port Arthur.
"I was deeply shocked to learn of the devastating tragedy at Port Arthur," she said.
"Prince Philip joins me in sending our heart-felt sympathy to the bereaved families and our best wishes for a speedy recover to all those who have been injured.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with you all."
